Dunhill Model 6158 Col. 40 Sunglasses
A product of the preeminent, London-based luxury design house, Alfred Dunhill established an outfitter to high society over 130 years ago. Originally offering accessories to the then-new automobile industry, Dunhill sold radiator mascots, brass horns, wearable timepieces, and very distinctive one-handed cigarette lighters. Because early motorcars were invariably open-air, Dunhill also sold goggles, both tinted and clear.
Linking all of these disparate accessories was a dedication to extraordinary quality, encompassing fine materials that stand on their own. By the 1980s, Dunhill's designs had evolved into exceptional eyewear, like these aviator-style 6158 sunglasses. Genuine innovation could be found in their signature Comfort Flex bridge design, which allows for the natural expansion of the human body experienced throughout a day of wear. Gold-plated with fine diamond-pattern detailing on the bridge and arms, these sunglasses were made in Austria and are still in collector-grade condition.
