An acronym that stands for Fabrica de Armazones Opticos South America, FAOSA was made famous by Buddy Holly's optometrist, who purchased two pairs of FAOSA eyeglasses in Mexico and filled the prescriptions for the budding rock star. The Zafiro sunglass design is perhaps even more relevant today than it was then, offering a cat-eye perspective on the typical wayfarer style.
