1984 would witness a vast array of the Jaguar eyewear catalog hailing from the German manufactory of Ferdinand Menrad & Co. Over 100 years of craft and quality, with skills originating in goldsmithing, the family owned/operated company would maintain their own line in addition to others, like Jaguar. Although, despite commissioning development elsewhere, the Menrad era would become a celebrated portion of the vintage assortment of the Jaguar's eyewear line. From the 1980s-the early 1990s, the Menrad quality would inherently have Jaguar eyewear revered among vintage eyewear aficionados for the detail, the structure, concept and quality.
The mod. 281 retains the unique Menrad standard in expected aspects like balance, comfort and structure, affording the wearer a satisfying fit with the ideal style factors gained from a Menrad product.
