American Optical Hazemaster Sunglasses
Originally known as the AN-6531 (Army/Navy Specification, even though Marines had access, too) was originally released in 1941, it is considered to be essential WWII Army and Navy Pilot eyewear. Although, the original aviator frame design predates American Optical's edition, it has become synonymous with bomber-class aviation appeal. AO retained the military contract to supply all aspects of optics before, during and after WWII. Originally composed of Monel (nickel-based material) the new AO Hazemaster is of stainless steel composition. The current design maintains its original essence outfitted with brow bar and comfort cable/riding bow temples for an authentic look. Although, the current Hazemaster, by comparisons to the former AN-6531 design affords more base curve in face form (more wrapped) for comfort and modernity.
